Help! My Teeth are Yellow!

Even with consistent oral cleaning and hygiene, your teeth can become yellow and stained over time. That’s because several factors can take a toll on your teeth, ranging from the natural aging process to the foods and beverages you consume on a regular basis. If stained teeth are making you feel self-conscious about your smile, a quick visit to your dentist can solve the problem.

At SEDA Dental, our expert dental team is committed to giving you the cosmetic treatment you need for a brilliant, sparkling, shiny white smile. One call can get you a fast, easy teeth whitening appointment.

Teeth whitening basics

Your teeth can become stained by nicotine use, caffeine consumption in drinks like coffee, tea, or dark sodas, frequent drinking of red wine, and other factors. Different teeth shades can also have a genetic component.

While stained teeth don’t necessarily mean your oral hygiene is at fault or that you have decay, stains can make your smile look unattractive and unhealthy. This can cause harm to your self-image and damage your self-esteem and self-confidence.

Fortunately, teeth whitening can resolve many issues, brightening your smile by several shades and giving you the boost you need to attend holiday parties and smile with confidence in holiday photos.

Philips Zoom!® Teeth whitening

Zoom!® Teeth Whitening can brighten your smile by up to eight shades in a single appointment. This process works on extrinsic stains (stains on or near the surface of your teeth). The process takes about an hour total, and you’ll be comfortable in the relaxed setting of your treatment room.

First, your dentist protects your gums from the brightening agents. Then he or she will paint a hydrogen peroxide-based gel onto the surfaces of your teeth. Finally, a lamp is used to shine a specific type of concentrated light directly on your teeth to activate the gel.

You’ll have three 15-minute sessions with the light, then your teeth and gums will be thoroughly rinsed. You’ll be able to see the difference immediately. Your teeth and gums may be sensitive for a few days after treatment, but this should wear off quickly.

The Zoom! procedure has been proven to be safe and effective when applied correctly by a trained dental professional. Our warm and talented professionals are trained in the use of Zoom! for teeth whitening and can ensure the correct protocol is followed for amazing results.

Opalescence Go™ teeth whitening

If whitening at home is more convenient for you, we can provide the Opalescence Go™ teeth whitening system. This whitening solution comes with a series of oral trays that you will wear for 3-4 hours each day. While this system doesn’t provide instant results like in-office whitening, you will see a whiter and brighter smile within the next few weeks.
